I had my 8 year old daughter assessed for ADHD. For diagnosis of children, I would definitely not recommend this online service. It is vital that children are seen and observed in their setting, in person. We were given a diagnosis by a Psychiatry-uk consultant for our child of ADHD. We were advised that no signs of ASD were observed and probably not worth getting an assessment for ASD. We were offered medication, which luckily I did not follow up with because I did not feel qualified to oversee from home (as was suggested). It was then that I tried to move back to the NHS to get treatment. Cahms did not accept the diagnosis because the child was not seen in person, at school. They strongly felt that she did not have ADHD but instead had ASD. I found it very stressful to realise that my private assessment did not meet my local NHS requirements. We have just had a private ASD assessment which saw my child in person twice. This gave a diagnosis of ASD, and did not suggest following up with an ADHD assessment. To give Psychiatry-uk the benefit of the doubt, it may be that my child has both ADHD and ASD. But the point is that to properly assess a child, a professional needs to observe them in their own setting - not over zoom. And any assessment should meet the requirements of the NHS. The reason I gave 3 starts about feeling safe, is because I did not feel that handing over the supervision of such serious medication was a safe thing to do .

The doctor and prescriber were both kind and informative the entire process. I struggled with my first titration -- my prescriber, Sally Newport, was sympathetic, willing to listen, and fully explained my options the entire time. My only suggestion for improvement would be upgrading the accessibility of the portal while on a mobile device - I found writing notes to be frustrating at times.

After years of struggling with my mental health and being diagnosed with BPD, my GP referred me to P UK. I had also been dealing with sleep issues since childhood. To my surprise, it turns out that I am neurodivergent! The entire process with P UK was simple and easy, and I especially appreciated the online portal for communicating with my psychiatrist and prescriber. The medication titration process was thorough to ensure that I was on the right treatment plan. Although there was a bit of a wait due to increased demand for their services, it was definitely worth it compared to waiting on NHS lists. Despite not being a private patient, I have had no issues with the service provided by P UK.

When I was first referred, Psychiatry UK claimed their waiting list is 6 months long.. I've been on the waiting list for an appointment for nearly a year (11 months) so far, which is worsened by the fact it's been 1 year and 7 months since my doctors sent off my referral. Every time I ask for an update, or any advice on how to make the wait time shorter, or if there's anything I've not filled out that might be holding up my assessment, I just get the same pathetic answer that they can't tell you how long the wait list is, they can't tell you where you are in the waitlist, and they won't help you. I'm really at a breaking point now. My life is getting harder and harder with these symptoms I'm experiencing, it's affecting my job and my physical health but they just don't seem to care. There's no compassion in their answers, and there's no reason they can't give some sort of indication on how long their waiting list is as it must be a metric they have to measure. I was hoping to be assessed and on the path to improving / finding out what is wrong with me by now. The only communication I get from Psychiatry UK is the odd welfare message every couple of months begging me to pull out from the waiting list and to go to A&E if I feel like killing myself. It's really disheartening reading all these reviews from people who were referred months after me getting seen within 6 months or so. There's quite a few examples of where the queue for assessments is seemingly jumped. So far I'm really disappointed with the service I've received.. I probably would have been better off waiting the NHS times.

I can’t believe how amazing the entire adhd assessment and titration process was. I was so nervous, and I didn’t need to be. I feel so looked after, and this is making a huge difference to my life. Thank you so much.

Mostly happy with the service but had some disappointments in the outcome. I was told that whilst I showed signs of being autistic, they determined that I wasn't, because I was "able to hold a conversation" despite the fact that I'd stated I'm okay conversing about things I am interested in without problem, which includes mental health and things about myself. I left the assessment feeling more down and left with more questions than answers and haven't felt like the assessment was right at all.

I would have liked the option to have zoom catch ups throughout my titration.
